2022 Giveback Results
Penrith’s Nepean Hospital will have access to a new ultrasound machine thanks to a $12,474 donation by York Jewellers.
We were able to amass the impressive sum through our ‘2022 Giveback Sale’ - a fundraising promotion run earlier this year.
The figure tops the $9,933 our community contributed last year when we held a similar campaign supporting the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and children’s ward.
A Nepean spokesperson said the machine secured by the latest batch of funding was urgently needed.
“This device can bring mobile ultrasound capacity in various clinical settings,” they said.
“It enables the clinician to review and send images, notes, and diagnostic data in an efficient manner for a more personalised point of care solution.
“By allowing us to minimise the use of more invasive procedures, it truly benefits patient outcomes.
“We’re very thankful to York and all those who have contributed.”
York Managing Director and Head Jeweller Douglas Ely said he’s honoured to help such a worthy recipient.
“It’s always impressive to see just how generous the community is here in Penrith,” Ely said.
“We set a high bar with last year’s effort, and I’m pleased to say we’ve equaled it, and then some.
“So many people here have a story about how the nurses, doctors, and other staff at Nepean have touched their lives, so it’s good to give back and let them know they’re appreciated.”
York has a proud history of partnering with the Nepean Hospital. Along with our financial support, in 2021 we awarded the hospital’s Nurse of the Year and Midwife of the Year diamond and white gold necklaces.
