About The Role

York Jewellers is seeking a skilled and experienced Jewellery Designer and/or Jeweller to join our team. You will play a crucial customer-facing role, guiding clients in selecting the perfect jewellery piece.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide expert customer consultation and jewellery sales for ready-to-purchase and bespoke jewellery
  • Design, create, and customise jewellery pieces
  • Perform detailed design work, including engraving and specification identification
  • Craft rings, pendants, earrings, brooches, bracelets, and other jewellery items
  • Conduct comprehensive jewellery repairs 
  • Collaborate with sales team to understand and exceed customer needs
  • Maintain workshop organisation and cleanliness
  • Evaluate jewellery quality and pricing 
  • Ensure strict quality control and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in jewellery design and manufacturing
  • Advanced technical skills in:
    • Jewellery design
    • Jewellery repair
    • Customer consultation
    • Soldering
    • Stone setting (desirable but not essential)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of:
    • Gemstones
    • Precious metals
    • Jewellery design principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong time management and deadline adherence

It’s time to meet the team and to start getting to know each other. This is a one hour trial wherein we will assess your ability to deliver service with a smile and assist our existing team with their daily activities.
