York Celebrates the Nepean Nurse and Midwife of the Year

York Jewellers recently had the privilege of helping one of it’s favourite organisations -  the Nepean Hospital in Penrith - announce its 2021 nurse and midwife of the year.

Nurse Jennifer Lawler and midwife Anne “Annie” Evans took home the honours thanks to their tireless commitment to patient care, their empathetic and supportive demeanour, and their leadership skills.

A Nepean Hospital mainstay since 2002, Jennifer has worked across numerous wards during her time at the facility. She is an extremely diligent Enrolled Nurse who strives for the best outcomes for her patients, and consistently goes above and beyond in the care she provides.

Annie is a natural leader, and demonstrates daily the attributes that set her apart. She is perceptive and has amazing situational awareness. Thanks to her enthusiasm and insight, the Introduction to Maternity and Gynaecological Care program is now included in the Aboriginal Maternity Worker Program.

York Jewellers’ Managing Director Douglas Ely and parents Helen and Robert Ely were in attendance to help celebrate their achievements, gifting the recipients each a 9 Carat White Gold Endless Circle Pendant with Claw Set Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds, accompanied by a 9 carat white gold cable chain.

Earlier this year York raised $9933 to support the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Children’s Ward. The donation is just one example of how York Jewellers gives back to the community that has seen us flourish over the last 45 years.
